Ever since Rachid Bouchareb's Days of Glory (Indigènes in French), the question of colonial soldiers fighting for France has generated significant activity and research, which has forced France to reconsider the role that its colonies played in World War II and in its Liberation from Nazi Germany.... Through the story of Christophe, a 58-year-old Afro-Vietnamese man, we are confronted with the ambiguities born of the marriages between these soldiers and Vietnamese women.
