Morocco provided us with this escape -- its combination of vibrant cities (Fez, Marrakesh), natural beauty (Gorges, Mountains, Desert), and friendly people provided the perfect balance of a different culture while feeling completely welcome and safe. Lahcen tirelessly brought alive every aspect of this... We spent a full day in Fez, and the next day, we were off to Merzouga -- Lahcen's home town at the outskirts of the Sahara desert. It was a LONG, VERY LONG drive.
