Alhambra. 15 April - Day 31. The drive from Madrid to Granada took us through the Andulusian mountains where we experienced sunshine, rain, hail and even a sprinkling of snow. The scenery was nice especially through the mountain passes and multiple viaducts.... The software sometimes directs us to non-existing locations, verbal directions conflict with visuals out the window and on the map, and the location of our city centre hotels are not usually easy to detect.

Sitting atop a hill ten minutes walk from the centre of Granada is the Alhambra, home to the last Arab king and the final symbol of Arab resistance against overwhelming Catholic forces it is characterised by its burnt sienna walls and... of beautiful Moorish architecture and falling into the classic tourist stereotype of camera hanging around my neck and map spread out in front of me as I tried to make sense of the maze of pictures that make up this huge fortress town.
